Fatal error: Call to a member function status

Hello,

Have just install b2 blog version b2evolution-1.8.5-2006-11-05.zip

I have decided to try and create a custom skin with the manual at

http://manual.b2evolution.net/Create_a_new_skin

I have completed up to Main Content Area 1. and this is where i start to have problem the blog will display but the only information showing up in the blog is this -

Fatal error: Call to a member function status() on a non-object in /www/110mb.com/b/n/d/e/s/i/g/n/bndesigns/htdocs/blogs/skins/my skin/_main.php on line 135

i have attached a copy of the _main.php file in a zip file.

if some would like to have a look and let me know what need to be fixed.

I have had the same problem. I'm guessing its a typing error because I did find an error before this error.

the message I got was

<div class="bPost bPost
Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/akdingo1/public_html/test/testblog/skins/akdingo/_main.php on line 30

line 30 is:
<div class="bPost bPost<?php $Item->status( 'raw' ) ?>" lang="<?php $Item->lang() ?>">

I tried to delete the line 30 that caused the error, and I got another error a few lines down. I deleted that and another error appeared.

I'm going to give up for now, and ask this question:

What PHP version is used on that instruction page?

My webhost has PHP version 4.4.4 installed. I can be moved if I send a help ticket and asked to be moved a server with the latest PHP version on it.
