Changed post by post navigation makes Intro-Front post disappear

I'm displaying an Intro-Front post on the front page. When you click on the links in the text, you get to the background area of the collection. I wanted to change the default post-by-post navigation in the background area from "same blog" to "same category" to hide some posts from the navigation (by linking them to a different category).
In the background area this works fine. However, as soon as the default post-by-post navigation is not "same blog", the Intro-Front post disappears from the special front page. I've tried all four options for the default navigation. Only the "same blog" option allows this post to be displayed. Why? Is there a fix/work-around?

Using Latest b2evo version.
collection type: blog
skin: Bootstrap Main
Front page type: Special Front page

Oh gosh, is it so bad?! - OK, here we go:

This is the special front page with the full Intro-Front post as I want it. Post-by-post navigation is set to "same blog".

Now we've clicked a link on the front and have entered the "background" area with all the posts.

Here is the link I don't want to be visible in the backgournd navigation. To this aim I have assigned it to a different category.

So, I go to Backoffice > Features > Posts to adjust the navigation from "same blog" to "same cat"

Whilst the unwanted link has indeed disappeared from the background navigation, so has my Intro-Front post

Please confirm that if you set "post by post navigation" back to "same blog", it makes your intro post re-appear?

(Just want to be sure this is the exact switch that toggles the bug)

Also a workaround: your membership info should probably be a Page, rather than a Post.

PAges never have prev/next navigation, no matter the "switch" you chose.

1) Yes, the Intro post reappears when I change back to "same blog". It is indeed like a switch.
2) A page. Genius! It works!
