Hi gretapisces you mean you was trying to download b2evolution from Softaculous from my Cpanel"

I suggest first you see what your host has to say and relay that info here, if it is relevant, as you can't otherwise provide any information that would in indicate where the problem lies, and it is probably is a hosting issue not one relating to b2evo.

Otherwise set up a database via cpanel and ftp a copy downloaded from http://b2evolution.net/downloads/6-9-6

I do use cpanel and have in the past had the same problem, all to often especially when updated versions are required. The theory is it should be 'all so easy', but in that respect is' all so frustrating'

Another issue I am worried about is that a user who doesn't feel competent enough to make their own database and ftp the site are hardly likely to handle all the help offered here, which is to say the least technical compared to a cpanel install

By the way :) what sort of failure notification do you get - you could upload a screen shot?

Who's your webhost? iblogger.org? Is that free webhosting?

Their softaculous is not up to date. It should be v6.9.7: https://www.softaculous.com/apps/blogs/b2evolution
I believe softaculous has automated update. Yet they didn't use it.

That means they are really not maintaining their platform as they should.

My web host is infinityfree.net and it is free web hosting. Should I email Softaculous or InfinityFree?
