I am looking at installing B2evolution as a service for students. We already have prexisiting user databases and web single sign on, so don't wnat to burden users with another username and password.

Has anyone tweaked the software to use prexisiting sign on like mod_auth_ldap, mod_auth_dbm, mod_auth_kerberos, mod_auth_ntlm, etc etc.
All these put the user name in the REMOTE_USER server variable which can then be used by apps like blogs.
