Hi, today I tried to upgrade my b2evo from 6.11.7 to the latest version (7.1.6-stable) and the result is an sql error:

After the error I tried to continue with the upgrade manually adding the column shown in the sql but the upgrade generated another error this time a duplication in some column and after this the site simply stop to respond and returned a fatal error... now I restored it via a hosting backup but this is a very bad experience for me.

is there a way to resolve the issue without reinstall from the start b2evo?

We need the full error message please. In your screenshot the SQL query is cropped and we can not see which fields are added and may cause the error.

Note: we do not recommend using a small screen / mobile phone for upgrades.

No matter what, we will attempt to fix this by making some fields of the blogs table smaller.

next time I copy the error and return it after the screenshot.

I know that is OT but I have an question for you and who work on b2evo, in another site where the upgrade is successfully completed I have issue with the login (not related to the actual b2evo installed)... practically I can login into the site only if I open it in anonymous mode, Iv already tried to clean db repair db, normalize db, clean browser temp file, cache, cookie, nothing worked... I don't know where to beat the head, what can it depend on?

Hi @jinkazama82it

Please start another thread for the following problem, with the usual info on (version, URL, screen-shot and exactly how the issue arose)

hi today I tried again the upgrade this time like the other site I start the upgrade vs a lowest version of v7 series (obviously before of that I had to clean the database from the table added from last try and backupped the database for not lost the last entry) and all goes well, but probably the real issue isn't the database orv longest table content but the absence of specific php extension, i noticed that on second site where that extension were already active I had no problem, so I tried to activate it also on this site and all goes well.

so just a tips when you add new extension ad dependencies would be useful to notify users of new dependencies to avoid problems.

in any case I think that even the version is more important from 6.11 to latest version of 7 is a too huge difference for an upgrade.

for last now that my main site is on 7.1.4 I wait for the server backup an move it on latest version.

see you next time

It would be useful to know what php extensions are you referring to and what they apply to.

Thanks

I don't remember all extension activated one for sure is the one dedicated to the file type mime used to open/read files like image, I'm sure that I activated another one extension but I don't remember what it is, sorry.
I posted the success of procedure after some days of test... in any case today I encounter an issue after the update I can't edit and save post that contain html even if into option I checked it for authorize the usage of the html (I hope that this issue it solved in latest version of which I planned its installation for next week in case I open a bug report)
