I think calling it something other than Blog could be confusing for the average user. I am already used to the word "collection" from the b2 code and fine with it but to the average user that might sound odd.
Also technically speaking, forums, albums or manual are essentially "type of blog"s arent they ? I mean the usage changes but there is no structural change right ? So I'm thinking the word blog could be kept and they could be named separately if it's really necessary to make such a distinction. Album type is already named "photoblog", forum could be called "blogrum" like Yabs did back in the day (r.i.p).

The goal is to have a term that applies to any type of blog/collection, not to have specific names. For example when in the manual we say "go to the collection's advanced settings".
Also there are structural additions. A lot of them. A collection with all of its possibilities is definitely more complex today than when it was just for blogs. We try to hide the complexity as much as possible, but still....
"Morph" though doesn't seem appropriate. The goal is not to change the collection type all the time. You merely choose it when you create it and then you rarely need to change it...

I know and it's fine with me, i just wanted to look from average user point of view. It's hard to find a word that would apply to all the siutations, so if you're going to change it collection should be just fine

Let's call it "BLOG BOARD", "BLOG PANEL" or simply "DASHBOARD".
As what tilqicom said, "BLOG" is easy to comprehend especially for new users.
How about: Morph or MorphBlog
Since it can change all the time into something different.
