Ok, one of the sites I'm trying to convert over to b2evo has a large image gallery. While I like how the photo album skin displays the attached images, I want regular blog functionality. How can I bring the photo album function into a regular blog skin? I can't idenitfy what parts I need to include, and while I can style the image block to kinda do what I want, to add the thumbnail with a link to the photo is a cumbersome process in a regular blog skin.

ok 2 thoughts:

1) Have you already tried attaching a folder to a post in a regular blog (see screenshot below)

2) Can you draw a mockup of what you're trying to achieve to make it more clear?

Ok, didn't know you could attach a folder, that does pretty much what I wanted for one case. However, I'm also attaching a different site I was wanting to migrate to b2evo, and I like how the photo album skin displays the attached file. This is the same post in the bootstrap template vs. the photo album template (as attached individual files). In the photo album skin, it resizes them down to make large thumbnails, which for an art portfolio is what I want to do.

So basically, are you saying that the thumbnails of an attached folder are too small for your second use case? (we can work on making that configurable)

Is there anything else than the thumbnail size that is a problem?

No, the thumbnails in the photo album template are good. It would be nice to decide on the size of them, but the way the photo album template displays them is fine for now. However, this site will also have a lot of text posts, and when you use the photo album template, it basically puts them to the side of a very large blank spot. What I'm trying to do is add the photo album display functions in the actual post to a regular skin so when I have a post with images, it'll show up like that, and when I have a post with text, it will show up normally. I hope I'm making it clear! ^_^;

The solution I am offering is that when you want to display a photo album in a regular blog, you just make a regular post and attach a folder to it. This will show thumbnails as you want EXCEPT they will be too small for what you want. What I am offering is an option to make those thumbnails larger.

Would that solve your problem or not?

The thumbnails I'd rather have smaller. Sorry, I'm not good with making myself clear sometimes! Making the folder and attaching it to the post is a great solution as it makes it easier for me in the future. It's just that when I do that, the thumbnails in the post on a regular skin are too big, yet the thumbnail size on the photoblog skin are fine. I personally would like them smaller, but if that's coming in a future update, I'm not worried about it right now.

My problem is that I can't find what makes the thumbnails smaller in the photoblog skin so that I can replicate that in my own templates.

I was really hoping for a "yes" or "no" answer this time...
