Hello @cionolak,
The problems appear to be related, but please share more details about your site. May you upload an screenshot of the bad request page or the URL of that page? Are you using any custom skin or plugin?
Thanks.

Maybe you also could active debug mode and verbose php error, before to take any screenshot to get a big picture of your problem. As another suggestion, you definitely should think on upgrade your b2evolution version, there are plenty of reasons that make this a good idea. The most important: security and full php-mysql support.
Here you will find more information about debugging: http://b2evolution.net/man/advanced-customization/debugging/debugging

Thanks for the info fellas. Yeah, I know it definitely needs to be upgraded. I'm new to b2 so forgive me for asking but how do I upgrade? I was looking for an "upgrade" tab or link but couldn't find one. Can I upgrade straight from 1.10.2 to 5? Are there any db compatibility issues if I do?

Yes you can upgrade straight from 1 to 5.
The upgrade procedure is explained on this page:

Thanks fplanque. Should upgrading also clear up the post issue I'm having?

Question: I'm real nervous about losing several years of data. Can I do the upgrade in a new folder (currently /b2, so lets say /b2v2), test it, then rename the folder to the original name /b2?

It's strongly recommended that you make a complete backup of your site (database + code).
Of course, you can test the upgrade in a separate directory, just be careful with your /conf/_basic_config.php, there you will find a variable $baseurl, it must match with your url, then if you place your test site on http://mydoamin.com/b2v2, $baseurl must be "http://mydoamin.com/b2v2". You also need to consider this: http://b2evolution.net/man/back-office-reference/managing-collections/url-seo-settings/blog-url-settings. You will need this information after performing the upgrade (if use your test-copy b2v2 method).

Note: the "several years of data" are not in a folder, they are in the MySQL Database. Using a different folder connected to the same database won't help much.
The solution against data loss is to make serious backups .
