Usually one can add some custom css classes in a CSS style sheet, name it item.css and put it in the skin folder, then it is available for use to add styles to elements in posts from the TinyMCE editor. Now it only allow two styles, Wide DIV and .nowrap, however styles can still be defined and be be used with Tables, but that's it.
