I've tried to upgrade to ver. 1.8.6 without success (DB problem). So, I decided to go for 1.9.1 instead. But when I run the installer I get "Installer for ver. 1.8.6"
No, there is a difference in the DB layout it creates. For that reason 1.9.1 is not downgradable to 1.8.6. If you want to install 1.9.1 remove the entire blog map (all the files) from the 1.8.6 version from your host and upload 1.9.1. Then run install from there.
