Hi Chris,
It depends on the plugins you are running and especially the rendering plugins. If you go to the part where you write your posts, you see them in the right bottom corner. If you prefer to write the html code for the links yourself (or use the <link> button) then you'd better diable the Auto Link plugin. The Auto P plugin generates html paragraphs <p> if you type new lines.
I am wondering where the </body> comes from.
I went ahead and disabled both Auto Links and Auto P, and I still have the body tag problem. I have all the other 'default' plugins enabled, and Live Hits.
I'm thinking maybe it has something to do with the code I put into the post?
It's not the exact same post, but I have gone ahead and been able to post the essentially same post again. Would like to know what happened though.

I get the same problem as well. I tried turning off Auto Links and Auto P but the problem persists. I hope there's some fix other than another upgrade for our site. Thanks!

You probably use a html generator to write the post. If you do, some tags will duplicate and eventually lead to errors. If you want to write the post in another editor, use plain text in stead of html output.
You can install the TinyMCE plugin which is a nice WYSIWYG editor for the B2evo posts.
Good luck
