Pictures are stored (by default) in the media folder of the blog, like ../blog/media/..
You can put them there in advance through FTP and call them later in the post with the <img> tag and/or button.

Blog by email (a plugin) but there are also possibilities through third party software that is intended to write a quick entry in your blog. Search the forum.
