i'm moving my blog from one domain to another, and in the process upgrading from 1.9.2 to 2.3.0-rc. will the new version work on a simple restore of the database, or has the structure changed, and if the latter, is there a means for importing the relevant data from the backup to the newer database?
You can travel both routes: upgrade on the existing install and move it or move the 1.9 install and upgrade on the new server.
There is no need to import DATA ever. You simply concentrate on moving the complete DATABASE.
Important is getting the connection between B2evo and the DB. You find the connection data in /conf/_basic_conf.php
