My b2evolution Version: Not Entered

Hi

I have a bit of a problem which I just cannot figure out. I have gone through the manual and these postings but cannot find the correct fix.

Whenever I create a blog posting it appears fine on the main index page.

http://www.XXXXXX.com/blogs/index.php

Then once I click on the blog entry it goes to the following URL

http://www.XXXXXX.com/blogs/index.php/2008/12/03/this-is-a-test

and to this message 'The page cannot be found'. Through the ftp program I can see that no sub directory exists. The site is hosted on a Windows server and the ISP has confirmed the rights to create folders etc.. within the blogs folder.

This maybe something stupid as I have only just set this up. Any help appreciated.
