Hi all,

I'm trying to add a user to my blog (b2evo 2.4.5) with permissions to make postings, add files etc, but with no ability to manage the blog settings themselves.

They are in the basis users group - which I haven't changed at all.

I have advanced permissions turned on.

Group permissions are set as default - ie. no permissions for any group.

User permissions are set as follows:

Is member: Yes
Can post published: Yes
Can post draft: Yes
Can edit own posts
Can delete posts: Yes
Can edit comments: Yes
Can edit categories: Yes
Can upload, read and write media directory: Yes

All other settings are No.

But this user still has no ability to do anything except read the blog.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks,

Mark

On the Users tab click the group name to edit the group, then the top setting is about admin link. Give them the third choice, which I think is something like "visible".

Yeah I'm with you. There's quite a bit you can turn on and off for any given group/user, but to my mind it isn't granular enough. Trying to decide if I want to hack the snot out of the core so a bunch of noob users don't have to see scary stuff or just offer a hanky when they run and cry ;)
