[2.x] HTML Code shows in subscription email

My b2evolution Version: 2.x

For some reason HTML code is showing in subscription emails. I have viewed the emails in multiple browsers and they all show the HTML code. Not sure if this is a bug or the way it is suppost to work, but I would like to see the email be the same as the post itself and not in code.

What if make we make HTML emails optional? Another good option, I think, would be file attachments.
Of course both disabled by default.
