http://www.kottke.org/ (MovableType) has a brief and neat solution to recently updated posts....

Is a such a "Title and date" thing possible with b2?

admin > blog settings > widgets > add new post list widget > settings > order by "date modified" "desc" will give you everything but the date ;)
