Not sure if it's been done or not, but it would sure be nice to the average joe out there if b2evolution could say "your image can't be more than 1024 pixels wide or 1365 pixels tall" instead of describing the limit in terms of bytes.
My thinking is that if you set your upload limit to 8 megs and your memory_limit to 256M it still won't process images that are really REALLY big even though they meet the two conditions we can own. Plus most regular folk are gonna be more aware of pixel dimensions than file sizes. Digital cameras let you set dimensions, resizing tools always work in dimensions, and so on.
Thus if b2evo said "you have a pixel width and height max" for images we could set upload and memory way high and have a very high degree of confidence that the image resizing process would work all the time.
Can't do it myself right now. I'm busy trying to get a grip on all the "core improvements" I've done to 247 and how they worm their way through all installations. Yuck!
