I currently have recaptcha implemented
so i'd recommend you try recaptcha
:)
Do you have comments or message form spam?
- You can completely get rid of spam by allowing comments from registered users only.
- I'd recommend you modify the comments form and lelete the URL field from it.
b2evo 4 has serious security improvements, it requires visitors/spammers to actually open the comments form to be able to post.

non taken B)
btw, see my userblog plugin post P:
Depends on number and type of spam you are getting..
If you are getting manually typed spam by obnoxious spammers, that's harder to fight with..There is not really a fool proof solution to that..I had a few of those and they have stopped trying when they found out the new comment status is "draft" and their stupid spam comments would never bu published..
OTOH, automated spam bots are easier to fight with, a captcha should do fine but as i ve told you earlier that b2evo captcha plugin might not do the trick as the spam bots are more advanced than that plugin and can read through.. so i'd recommend you try recaptcha
