My b2evolution Version: 2.x

Hi all
I'm new to this blogging stuff so if some of this has been said before I'm sorry. I have a new taxi website going live soon the company has about 500 drivers who will already have there own membership on the site.I have installed b2evolution at the backend of the new site is it possible to have b2evolution running for this membership privately not visible unless you log in through taxi website. running on latest download of b2

are talking about a.)preventing new memberships & protecting content from visitors, but leaving some parts of the website visible to search engines

b.) Disabling the website completely to anything, anyone that is not a member ?

a.) is fairly easy and viable with b2's features.
b.) takes a few more security measures and more attention to achieve.And it might not be foolproof if you do not cover all the angles.

For the part B) could you list the security measures needed to do something like that.

After the long delay, can anybody post the security measures referred to, PLEASE? Some may be through what's cited in the manual:
Note: since 1.8.1 the Settings tab is called App Settings,
BUT I can find no such tab?!
