- hangs during upgrade, database conversion
1 macphyter Jan 22, 2012 08:10
I'm trying to upgrade a really old version of b2evo (1.9.3) to the latest (4.1.2). I know, its been a while since upgrading. :)
Anyway, I run the install, and it seems to work until it goes to convert the database to the new schema. I see the following output, and then it just hangs. I can restart the install process, but I get the same thing. I'm stuck... any ideas?

----install output follows----
Upgrading b2evolution...

Preparing to install .htaccess ... ERROR!
install/test/index.html was not found as expected.
Everything should still work, but for optimization you should follow these instructions.

Checking DB schema version... 9800 : OK.
Updating keyphrases in hitlog table...
----end snip----
Then, if I try to go to the admin page, I see this:
----output capture follows----
This is b2evolution version 4.1.2.
You cannot use the application before you finish configuration and installation.
Database schema is not up to date!
You have schema version «9800», but we would need «10200».
Please use the installer to finish your configuration/installation now.
On most installations, the installer will probably be either here or here... (but I can't be sure since I have no config info available! :P)
----end snip----
Welcome to the forums!
Have you waited for at least a minute after you got "Updating keyphrases in hitlog table..." ? You may see dots printing one by one on the screen.
When the script hangs do you see any error messages?
