Is there an easy way to add different links to the side bar in b2? Or am I going to have to go into the skin and figure out where to put them (basiclly trail and error)?
One of the blogs in a standard b2evo installation is called "Linkblog". Whatever you post in the linkblog will be put in the sidebar of whatever normal blog is associated with it.
If you go into your normal weblog where you make your posts, check the back office area, go to the Blogs tab, click your blog and check the "Default Linkblog". Assign one there, then post to the linkblog and you will get links (or more) in your sidebar.
This is a quick explanation, but hopefully it gets you started.
