From what I can tell, they're considering implementing this feature in the next version so it may be better to wait until then.
The only way to do it at the moment is to completely rewrite the registration process.

Yabba, I think pigot is talking about raptors job: that was working on his web site: you already talked with raptor about that! Maybe did you forgot?

Lol, I also have a working system on my own site, hence the reason I know that it'll take a complete re-write of the registration process.
However, I've suspended working on my own blogs until the new version comes out as it has some major changes with the way that it does everything and most of the things that people want have been (or are being) written into it.
