Today, there is no way to include a picture gallery in a post. It would be fine to include an interactive picture gallery feature gallery.

I've quickly tested the online demos of the following free Flash-based solutions:
• Postcard Viewer: PostcardViewer is a free Flash image viewer.

  • SimpleViewer: SimpleViewer is a free, customizable Flash image viewing application.

  • Flash Photo Gallery using xml and php

  • FREE Photo Gallery v.2 (linkware)[/list:u]There are other commercial solutions that might be interesting to support:

Adobe Photoshop CS2 Flash Web Photo Gallery

  • SlideShowPro: Photo Gallery and Slide Show Compotent for Flash MX 2004[/list:u]Here are some ideas about implementing such a plug-in or hack:

add a Toolbar Plug-in in order to add the right additional tags to the currently edited post and select the pictures to show together as well as the software used for the presentation;

  • add a Renderer Plug-in in order to convert the post contained tag to the final interactive gallery form.[/list:u]Interesting features would be to:

easy installation:

automatic installation;
automatic interactive gallery solution detection;
plug-in(s) preferred;[/list:u]
full documentation (including online contextual help);

  • support for several (most/all?) popular interactive galleries solutions;

  •
default interactive gallery solution included.[/list:u]

    I'm afraid I can't afford to pay a penny for anything. :-/

    See those requests as a TODO list for developers with some spare wanting to spend some time on developing usefull features. Those developers include myself. Why should "open source developement" be limited to the source code only?
