Yes, it is now. After I posted this I edited the baseurl and moved the files just to check that the scripts didn't have a problem with it being in a sub-directory, and also after emptying IE cache wanted to make sure IE wasn't still throwing up the error as it invariably does when you've been working on the same pages for so long it doesn't even notice any changes!
However, I'm still having a problem - can't display admin page........

Try this :-
rename your admin foder to another name (fred will do)
open conf/_advanced.php and change this line to the new name :-
$admin_subdir = 'admin'; // Subdirectory relative to base
if you called the folder fred you'd change it to:-
$admin_subdir = 'fred'; // Subdirectory relative to base
Upload your changed conf/_advanced.php and see if you can access the admin area.
in this example it would now be :-
http://emmaline.co.uk/fred/

Tried what you suggested, didn't work :( Also, have had word back from my host who say after checking again its def not their side.
Any other ideas?

You should ask your host to turn custom error pages off so that you can see what's causing the page to fall over.

This is their standard error page, they won't/can't turn it off.
Not sure what to try now :'(
What have you got as your baseurl? http://www.emmaline.co.uk/butterfly?
Or just butterfly?
