Been doing some houselceaning today, and in checking things in google located something interesting -- 6 spam sites that have aggregated some of my content. It's apparant from the specific content that they were looking for things that helped their keywords.

anyway, here is the info for all of the domains:

http://www.whois.sc/7t9b.info
http://www.whois.sc/uscigshq.info
http://www.whois.sc/91e0s.info
http://www.whois.sc/v17z.info
http://www.whois.sc/f0rf.info

Theyre all related, of course.

I have looked through my logs, and havent gotten any sort of hits off their corresponding ips, however I've started taking the steps to blocking access to my feeds from sites/ips I dont recognize. There was one IP in my logs that Ive traced back to here (youre safe, Yabba), and one other that points back to somewhere in West Virginia ( a dsl line), that Ive continued to allow access.

There were 3 suspicious entries in my logs:

m2.centralhosting.net --> 66.40.38.192
www.maestrodigital.net --> 65.68.2.194
66.179.81.100

that I am now blocking.

I reccomend checking Google every once in a while to see what sorts of sites come up with a simple search of your domain name. You might also want to keep an eye on your logs for the 2 entries above that I am blocking.

Ive been doing a little reading on this.. seems Ive been [wiki]splog[/wiki]ged. yay >:-<

anyway, so now Im thinking (as I sit and look at my logs), how much to invest in this..

The options:

1. hardcode some sort of affiliate link, sometime, somehow ..(monetize my feeds)
2. Block all direct access to my feeds. In other words force ppl to subscribe to a feedreader service.
3. Ignore it and pretend it will go away.

1. might be fun.. lets see, the feed is php generated, so

check for a list of feedreaders
if (feedreader) {no link}
else
{link}

hmmm. It might be a little work but might be fun too.

Any other interesting ideas???
