I'm using a linkblog to track affiliate product links for my blog. However I'm running into several issues.

1) The link field in the back-office limits a link to a certain number of characters. A link to an Amazon book, for instance, exceeds these characters. I would rather use the "link" type of post, but I'm forced to use the "post" type of post and have the sidebar display content instead of just title.

Any way around this?

2) After I build up enough product links, I don't want to display more than 5 or so in the sidebar. I'd like a "more" link in the sidebar to display the rest either in the sidebar or the main content area.

Any ideas?
