hello all .

1) is there anyway to display the list of headlines (titles only) instead of the entire content of a post by post when i click on each of the category and the monthly archives?

2) can we change the look of the pagination to something like this:
[first] [previous] 1, 2, 3, ... [next] [end]

instead of this:
<< previous page :: next page>>

because i've found that it's too painful to keep constantly scrolling and clicking on the "next page >>" to get to the post that i had left off when i was reading the posts in a certain category.

i've searched, but found topics with no answer to my questions.
