fantastic! and thanks a lot for this hint. i did not expect that in this old skin one has the option to switch colorbox stuff and did not search for solution there. The colorbox can be switched off in the skin settings of every skin that uses it.
You can make a custom skin that uses a different script.
okay, i switched colorbox off for test purpose and integrated the colorbox plugin downloaded from http://www.jacklmoore.com/colorbox/ ... it does work - unfortunately ONLY as long as i am LOGGED IN to the backoffice.
What makes the difference, why is it not working for not logged in users?
And pls could you comment the caption-question/problem: Should the incorporated script do the caption thing (and do i miss code on my side), or is it by design disabled?
And a third observation, we seem to have trouble with: Elastic Transition is not working. Once we have a bigger pic in the show-mode, the background of pic (white) against the general dark background keeps the bigger pic size although the new picture shown is smaller.
That is by design. We don't want the position of the nav buttons to change all the time.
If there is a way to include it in future code, maybe you could offer a selector for people to choose Elastic Transition either ON or OFF. In our case, we prefer on, regardless nav buttons moving position.

I don't know for the caption. This would require digging into the code. I don't have enough time, sorry.

If you want to move around your images, you probably want to use [thumbnail:] : https://b2evolution.net/man/thumbnail-short-tag
