What skin, what skin version & what b2evo version are you using?

3 Apr 01, 2017 02:41

b2evolution 6.8.8-stable

Skin was created from bootstrap blog

Does it work if you switch back to Bootstrap Blog Skin?

It doesn't matter what skin I choose. Same error

It's actually a browser popup. "Error: could not get hash Salt from server. Please contact the site admin and check the browser and server error logs. (error: )"

As mentioned, when using the standard form, I can log in. Only from ?disp=login page it gets the error.

I get this problem too, with Asevo on 6.8.8

It happens when I restart the computer in the morning for some reason/

I get the same problem too. Got it in at least the last 3 releases. The only way I "resolved" it was by clearing the browser cache (cookies).

Used a custom skin, but found it even if I switched to other skins:

I've got my setting in FF to clear everything when I close the browser -- cooking, browsing and form history and so on -- but that doesn't solve it for me.

Ha ha...."cookies" I mean :) Although cookies do require cooking.

That's different than my error. Mine is a browser popup (on any browser) and only on the ?disp=login page.

"Error: could not get hash Salt from server. Please contact the site admin and check the browser and server error logs. (error: )

(I can log in using the "standard login form)

What is the difference between the standard form the other way that you're having difficulty with?

Say if I notice a typo in a blog entry I have posted. I can't get to backoffice to correct it, neither via the login link at the top right of my blog, nor by clicking on the "Edit" link at the top of the post, unless I reset my password. Then, I will be let in. But if I hibernate or turn off my computer I know it will block me out the next time I try to log in. I've had to reset my password twice today.

It's interesting you say that you've had this problem in the last three releases. I wonder whether it might be worthwhile going back to 6.7.

Looks like I resolved my problem.

It was an http vs https issue. Sorry about that. But others here have a different issue.

Hang on -- I might have found it. It could be an incorrect / misdirected baseurl.

I'm in the middle of some work at the moment but when I can I'll close the computer down and restart it and see if the password holds.
