Intallation Errors

When I upgraded from the original hosts version of 4.1.7 to 5.0.9 I discovered a couple of problems.
First of all, System Status reports 2 errors:
Remote error: Connect error: Connection refused (111) (5) and
WARNING: You are running an outdated development version (4.1.7-2013-04-27). Version 5.0.3-beta-5-2013-04-28 is available for download. It is strongly recommended that you upgrade.
The funny part is, it also says my current version is: 5.0.9-stable released on 05/15/14

Have I done something wrong or is there a way to fix these two errors?

Could you send a printscreen of this error or tell us where are you getting this error?

Regarding the versions issue, please double check that you uploaded all the files to the server and you followed the steps to make the upgrade.

The connection error "Remote error: Connect error: Connection refused (111) (5)" most often occurs when I post to a blog. I turned off the "Ping" and it quit coming up then, so at least part of it was the pings not working.

Here is a partial screen shot so you can see where these two errors occur. There are other places but I figured this would give you a good idea of what's going on. If needed, I will move to another host.

As for the upload, I have done it twice and the only folder I left in place was the media folder. The first upgrade was done before I had done anything other than download the hosts "Auto install" of ver. 4.1.7.
