Hi Francois,
This is happening since last few weeks. I even tried upgrading but that too doesn't help. Still it is showing the same error.

Is there any easy way to fix this? Otherwise tomorrow, I'll start installing a fresh copy, such a pain to maintain all the customized settings :(

Did your problem start BEFORE, AT or AFTER you upgraded?

What do you mean with "customized settings"? Did you make changes to the code? In that case you should definitely install a fresh copy!

After the upgrade everything was fine. After few days, probably 15-20 days I saw this.
I have made changes to the skins & plugins, which I will have to do it again. :(

Please make a test with a nun modified skin to see it it fixes the problem. Make sure you empty caches when you test.

If the problem persists, please also disable all custom plugins you have to see which one creates the problem.

I have decide to install a fresh copy on server. But now I'm having a hard time. When I enter the details regarding DB, the config file still shows incorrect details. I changed the parameter of config file & tried to update it, but still not updating.
What's wrong here? I'm stuck at this step.

Now it is giving me error as
Preparing to install .htaccess ... ERROR!
install/test/index.html was not found as expected.
