I've been avoiding getting into post types but I will have a look and see how that will work. Thank you.
Only sidebar link is still here as a post type. But, I will create it as a new custom post type.

If your goal is to display the linkblog in the sidebar, then 'sidebar link' is perfect.

Didn't want it as a sidebar thing.
I will figure out something. I have link directory software which I could still use on a subdomain and link back to the main site.

Make a "Manual"-type collection and put "Link"-type posts in type. You will get a super neatly organized collection of links with categories and subcategories.

Am I looking in the wrong place? I only see a sidebar link post type.

Duplicate the "Post" type, name it "Link" and disable any feature you don't need.
You can still make link blogs (it's just not advertised any more). They are just regular blogs which contain posts of type "Link".
But you can also store your "Link" posts inside your normal blog.
Then if you want your blogroll links in the sidebar, use the "Universal Item List" widget and configure it to only display posts of type "Link".
So ti summarize: it's all about using the post type "Link".
