I just upgraded to b2evolution 6.11.3-stable Friday night. I made a new post Saturday. Someone emailed me privately (not through my blog) to say they could not leave a comment. I logged out and tried to leave a comment and received a page that had the error: "Not Acceptable! An appropriate representation of the requested resource could not be found on this server. This error was generated by Mod_Security."

I get this error on preview and send comment. (URL is http://www.otterine.com/blog/htsrv/comment_post.php)

I'm working with my web host - bluehost - and they said they "whitelisted the mod_security rule id which was causing the issue", but the issue is still there. I've let the web host know and am waiting for a further reply. Is this something the web host has to fix, or is there a fix I can do?

Also, when I click on the comments feed for a post, I receive this error. Does this mean there is something wrong with the comments files?

The web host was able to correct the mod security problem, so comments are going through again.

The comments feed issue they were not able to resolve.

This is NOT an error. That is a what an RSS feed looks like.

@otterine I have a similar problem with Bluehost and no one seems to know anything about the problem. How did it resolve for you. Did you do it or did bluehost do something. In either case what was the fix?

I used the support chat, but the first person was not able to fix the problem and and said they would "escalate it to someone with the right authority." I waited a day for the escalation person to get back me, but their fix didn't change anything. Today, I signed onto the chat again. This second rep I chatted with was able to fix the issue, but I don't know what was done on their end.

@fplanque , back in 2013 you talked about using mod_security on you servers. Did you do so and do you have any suggests for this bluehost problem.

My problem only occurs when I try to save an edit in the bootstrap_manual skin.

@wrc I don't have a ticket number unfortunately since it was the online chat session. My error happened when trying to preview or post a comment.

@wrc My conclusion with mod_rewrite was that it was a PITA.
I'm not touching it with a 10 foot pole.

@otterine - did you get your problem solved? if so, what was the solution?

@wrc - I'm not sure what the bluehost rep did - I used the online chat, and the third rep I chatted with was able to correct my error (see comment #9 above). You asked if I have a ticket, but I don't. I just used the help chat. Sorry I can't give more insight into what they did to correct the problem.

I finally got Bluehost to solve the mod_security issue. If anyone else encounters this problem with them. The fix will be recorded with the following ticket reference.

I hope this helps
