Hello,

I tried to auto upgrade from 6.10.7 to 6.10.8 but my system tells me, that 6.10.7 is the actual version.
Does auto upgrade not detect the new versions?

Thanks, Will

Hi
It would seem the auto upgrade didn't complete.
My understanding is that the file /config/_application.php has the version installed. Once that has been uploaded the install script will see the new version and update the database.

Although I do manual ftp, the file mentioned above must have $app_version = '6.10.8-stable';

I am using 6.10.7 and will download 6.10.8 to check the file etc.

Hi @saunders

I can confirm, as expected the /config/_application.php in my download does state 6.10.8
I will now try an auto upgrade. I have avoided doing so since 5.* as it didn't regularly, probably due to a timeout on my old sever. I have just moved host so fingers crossed. :)

EDIT

That's strange :: there's no option to auto-update on my 6.10.7 installation, so without more info from you I am at a loss :(

I have used auto upgrade since years. it is for the first time a new version has been released and in auto upgrade this version is not mentioned nor is my version 6.10.7 marked as outdated.

@saunders please check again now. The ping server was not correctly configured. Thanks for reporting. All our sites tun on 6.11 or 7.0 now and we did not notice.

Hi @fplanque

After your post my site calstock.org.uk did then show that 6.10.7 should be updated to 6.10.8, which I did manually and all is fine. However when I checked another site unveiled.info it only shows the 6.10.7 with no option to update.

So calstock.org.uk is now on 6.10.8

It's not a real problem for me as I have downloaded 6.10.8 and can ftp it, but thought you may a) like to know this anomaly and b) have some idea of why it may be happening

So unveiled.info is on 6.10.7 with no update notification.

Both on the same host on a reseller account. ??

@amoun There is a cache with a timeout so you don't query our server every time you load the page.

Go to Maintenance > auto update to query with a very small cache delay (like 15 seconds)

@fplanque Thanks. Would do as you say but haven't found how to change cache delay

Go to Maintenance > auto update to query with a very small cache delay (like 15 seconds)

In the process of trying to do the above System >Status I got this.

It happened yesterday before my post #7 and disappeared by clicking somewhere, as it has today. If I close the browser tab and re URL it doesn't reappear. I will close the browser completely etc and see if I can bring it back a third time :: meanwhile it may provide you with yet another opportunity to marvel at the foibles of whatever it is I'm doing :)

EDIT :: UPDATE

Nope! Closed browser but didn't get the above error message again.

There is an error between your server and our server. Never seen this before.

You did not say nor show what your auto upgrade screen shows today.

Hi
The screen on unveiled.info

It happened yesterday before my post #7 and disappeared by clicking somewhere, as it has today

So the error was there yesterday, and today.

I have just switched off my computer, not just restarted the browser, and I get the same message again
Remote error: CURL error: error:140770FC:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:unknown protocol (8)

I will chat with my host.

Seems that the ping server is not correctly configured again, because auto-upgrade from 6.11.2 to 6.11.3 does not work. The system claims 6.11.2 as latest version.
Would be glad to get a fix for upgrading.
Thanks and Regards, Will
