Some questions about B2evolution 5.0.0 alpha

Please forgive my English is very poor, so my words may be incorrect somewhere

First , let me introduce myself. I'am a system administrator of an university of China, responsible for the school forum. Now I would like to create each teacher and student a blog by B2evolution and integrated into the existing forum members. I am choosing the b2 5.0.0 alpha version, for it's much greater than the stable version, has many features which I would like to use (Ex 1. thread comments 2. cross categroies 3. 4. 5 ...) and little mistakes(until now I haven't found any problem) . Although pre-integration of the member's work I've done, still experiencing a lot of problems and hope that the administrator can give me some advices or help, thank a lot!

The questions below:

1. How to translate the words which did not appear in the language file?
Although most of the words I can translate to my own language, in the latest messages.pot still could not find many words. Also some words had been translated, but didn't show. So, please give me some help, I would like to contribute my translation work!

2. If our current equipment can withstand a large number of users.
Now our school has nearly 40,000 users including teachers and students. About 8000 users daily visit the forum , and 500 online in the same time! We get an IBM server of four processes of CPU and 8G Memory.
Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5504 @ 2.00GHz

3. How to edit .htaccess file?
When I first install , the installation information display can not copied sample.htaccess. I ignore this error but works well. However, I found that one blog can not be specified with the prefix name of the url, (Ex http://thename.bbs.ybu.edu.cn/pblog) but http://bbs.ybu.edu.cn/pblog/index.php/thename is OK! I don'k now if it's the .htaccess problems or the other! Please give me some help !

If anyone could give me some advices or help, thanks a lot!

1- most words should be available in the latest .po* file . You can always hack into core to change certain words, but like i said, i dont think there are many words that can not be translated.If you could be more specific.

2. Yes that should not be a problem. You can even use a small vps or even a regular hosting with those numbers, your dedi should be more than enough.
I am currently running a blog with 10k unqiue visitors and 50k pageviews per day.Moreover you'd be better of running b2 than a standart wp install.

3. I didnt quite get the problem here.
