I would like to create a static page on my blog. For example I'd have a section on the right with a bunch of pages such as About Me or Contact Me etc.
Here's an example of a blog with those things:

The reason I don't use the blog software in that link is that it doesn't run on my webserver! I've tried about 5 different types of blog software before b2e so I really really hope I can create static pages with it. Is it possible?

With a hack, yes. http://forums.b2evolution.net/viewtopic.php?t=9981 allows you to add whatever non-blog pages you want in a style that matches your blog and keeps your header/sidebar stuff intact.
