If I write an article on my blog and designate it as members only this means that a person can only see it if they are member of the blog. Correct? Now, assuming I am correct, if a person "joins" the blog are they automatically a member or do I have to do something in the backoffice to make them one?

Thanks!

By "members only" you mean posting with visibility of 'protected' right? Cool. So yeah: only members of the blog the post is in can see it. That really means "registered members who you have put into either a group that is defined as 'member' or is personally defined as 'member' of a given blog".

So what you have to do is decide which group new registrants are part of, then decide what permissions that group will get for any given blog. You can move registered members from one group to another, or, make them be members of a blog by using the Blog settings->user permissions tab.

Thanks Ed! That's what I thought as well but wasn't sure. Appreciate it! :D
