[1.8.x] Members Being Logged Off and Preferences Not Remembe

My b2evolution Version: 1.8.x

I received a note from a member a few weeks ago about this and thought it was isolated but since then have received two more. Here is the latest-

"Seems I got logged off overnight and now both my preference for the AARP
skin and staying logged in doesn't work consistently.

I can switch skins then look at an entry - tells me I need to login to
post a comment - then coming back from login it pops me to the main page.
Go back into the entry to post a comment - logged out again."

Any ideas?

UPDATE: It seems to be related to the small number of folks that are using the alternate skin I created.

UPDATE 2: It appears to be related to the cookie that is created to remember the skin preference. It works for awhile but then eventually seems to cause a problem. I had the users that are having an issue clear their cookies and that seems to have solved the problem. At least for the time being.
