[1.9.x] Bandwith from 3 GB/month to 35 GB/month when upgrade

My b2evolution Version: 1.9.x

Recently I Upgraded a blog from 0.9 to 1.9.3 with Plain skin and some plugins but nothing out of the ordinary.
The Linkblog is quite modest, no banners, no ad-sense, no external counters.
Yet upon upgrading the monthly bandwidth jumped from 3 GB to 35 GB...
I don't see excessive spammers in Awstats, in fact I see very few, but in the Internal Statistics the highest Referring Domain with 33% of visits is itself.
The same happens in Top Referers.
The domain is www.apuntesdecocina.com if anybody wants to check it.

Can anyone help me solve this problem?

Did you always display 20 posts on your index page?

Here is the results of a Page Size look at your index page...

Documents (1 file) 137 kb
Images (31 files) 319 kb
Objects (0 files)
Scripts (9 files) 145 kb
Style Sheets (10 files) 20 kb

Total 621 kb

Try displaying 10 posts and see if that helps!!

Hi John;

The blog has always had 20 posts but we will show 10 to see if that really works (it should in one aspect), but still I don't understand why is itself its main referrer with 33% of all visits?

It got worse! from 1.2 GB the day before to 2.1 GB. And still its own domain is the highest referrer.
