I have to second that "o kay!" If you are root on a box the simple way to upgrade is to use wget to grab the files, untar them, and go the normal upgrade process.
Youre approaching this from a very ass-backwards position.

but your will never get cpanel to display it correctly.

0.9.0.11 is way old so yeah you for sure want to upgrade.
Do you have access to your server, meaning can you download and upload files without issue? You won't actually use cpanel to upgrade manually. Instead get yourself an FTP program so you can move files that way. Filezilla is my weapon of choice, but others dig on other tools.
