My b2evolution Version: Not Entered

I have a few posts in my native language Tamil, but when I set the charset to UTF-8 and update the locale to use UTF-8 instead of iso-* the posts still do not show up as tamil.

When I try to copy/paste the characters and update it, all I get is a bunch of question marks ????? ??????? instead of the actual characters when I save the post.

How do I ensure that the Unicode characters are correctly saved?

Actually pasting the unicode "code" works, but the pasted characters don't.

I got the post to work with the but the title still shows junk characters and it doesn't get converted to the "code" like

Hi,

Are you happy with the results you've got or do you want me to assist you with the conversion of the databse?

Good luck

I tried running the script mentioned in the previous thread, but it has no effect.

If I copy unicode characters and save posts, I still get only ??????

If I could at least use some converter to copy the absolute chars to the unicode "code" then I can manage.

If you run the script mentioned, does it output to your screen? There should be a flood of sql programming code.

I changed the value of
$printonly=true; //change this to false to alter on the fly

To $printonly=false;

It doesn't display anything at all though.

Oh, ok, I noticed that I hadn't changed the name of the database, so it failed obviously....

Ok the dbfix works. I will now apply changes on my server. :)
