Take a look at stubs and timestamp_max ;)

Ok, I changed the stub file and set it to the right timestamp, (I think) and told that stub file to apply to the calendar blog, but then nothing seems to have happened.
It seems like I need to somehow tell the blog to go to that stub file? How do I do that in the most recent version? I looked at the documentation here:
http://manual.b2evolution.net/Stub_file
But I don't seem to see those prompts in my backoffice, so I think it applies to an older version.
I tried putting it in "Advanced" "Static File Generation" "Source File," but then nothing happened. It didn't seem like quite the right place but it's the only thing that even mentions stubs.

Put your stub name in as the "relative to baseurl" setting on this page of your admin ;)

Magic. Thank you.

It basically works now!
Now I just need to figure out how to change the prompts when you post, and maybe down the road something that will enable recurring events.
Is there a way to make posts copy themselves and post at multiple times?
edited to say: I think I'm basically at an "asking how to do something" phase of this. Should I keep talking about it here, or start a new thread in another section? I don't want to be cross-posting and annoying people, but if there's a better place to talk about this, I can start another thread.

It would be better as a separate thread, but the answer is "no"

If I think I'm understanding you correctly, I've been trying to do this myself. Using a combination of stub files and a customized skin- I want to create a skin that shows blog entries in a calendar format (whether weekly or monthly).
You can see my basic attempt at
http://www.zimorama.com/weekly.php

Sort of. I'm OK with the event listings looking like a list, in my experience calendar formats can be too bulky even for calendar entries. I like the little side calendar and I think that will be suitable.
What I would like to do now that I've got future posts showing up, (which the stub file accomplished nicely, thankyou for the help, forum member whose name I cannot type) is create a way to have some of these posts repeat on a weekly or monthly basis, if the user selects this.
That's way beyond my skills right now, though, so unless I can rope someone else into helping me I think I may be done with that for now.
The other feature I'd like to have but don't know how to accomplish just yet, is adding a few more fields to the post form for entries on the calendar blog, to prompt the user for time and location, and move the date field above the body field so that it's the most prominent. (That being the set up most people expect when entering something on an events calendar.)
It's tantalizing to me, because B2evolution is so close to having a built-in events calendar with the calendar widget already there, I'm surprised no one has done this yet.
Here's the current set up:

The main problem is that it would take a fair amount of coding to achieve this within the current abilities of plugins, so unless you can actually alter the core for future versions your limited in your abilities .... or you have to re-hack the core every upgrade

Take a look at:
http://coloradofilm.org/events
I'm also looking for an easy way to integrate a calendar of events for our client.
Archive feature works but events scheduled for future don't work.
Anybody successful hacking b2evolution code to show future dates or currently working on a plugin?

Ok so I read info about Stub files and edited a_stub.php and future event postings are linking from calendar on the front end correctly.
You can view at:
http://www.coloradofilm.org/events
December 1 events is lilnked. Rest of dates with posted articles aren't linked. When I press forward button I can view rest of dates with links however.
On the backend, I am only able to view 2 of the last posts I did and that's it. I'm unable to link to posts listed in archives.
I did read post above on "relative path". I don't see a way to do that in version I'm running.
I've posted a screen shot if you'd like to view admin settings for blog. Don't know if that will help:

I just want to say that ColoradoFilm.org has a great little site using b2evo.
I'm also interested in having some type of calendar skin or feature. I'm helping a friend set up his blog and we need to have a calendar of events.
In theory, we could add post with lines for the details:
Location:
Date:
etc...
I don't mind this approach - but I'm hoping there's a good skin to display this info.
I also use sharepoint and I'm not too impressed with it.
b2evo is free and - if we find the right skin - i think we may be able to display dates like this.

I've tried one myself... (in 1.10.3)
http://www.zimorama.com/weekly.php
but I can't get all the bugs out. these include:
*what if a day doesn't have a blog entry?
*always starting on Sunday (or Monday, for that matter)
*converting it to the latest version of b2evo

I have the same need to include an (future) event list in public, is the subject still unresolved?
