Check conf/_basic_config.php and make sure that your $baseurl doesn't end with // ( it should only end with one )

Thanks. It didn't have two... it had three. ODD. In any case, switching it to one worked wonders. Didn't even think to look there.

could I hazard a guess and say you used fantastico to upgrade?

I tend to look in all sorts of obscure places .... seen some great jails because of that particular fetish, but that's another story :roll:
