Is there any difference between chaning this preference directly in the db or via the UI? On a new b2evo install I get a 403 error when editing groups but can create users. Rather than get to the bottom of this now (any ideas?) I changed this setting directly in the db but Live Writer still responds with the same error

swanblog,
Welcome to the forums.
Did you solve this with the solution from your other post?

Then it needs a code hack. I'll see what can do.

How about just ticking "allow css tweaks" ?

Where do you find the "allow CSS tweaks" option?
:?:
I have this same problem with the style. Only it is for tags rather than pictures - I have another related post - but I thought I might try this...

It's in Dashboard -> Users -> SELECT A USERGROUP -> Security filters
Good luck

This worked!
Thanks for the quick reply - I'll delete my other post or refer back to this thread.
You guys are awesome - I only hope to have as much knowledge about B2Evo as you guys do - sometime in the future ;)

The one you need for Windows LiveWriter and other XML-RPC client is the setting in the backoffice.
Don't allow CSS tweaks for comments until you really really need it. It allows anonymous users to deface your blog.

fplanque,
You're correct, I got them (posts and comments) mixed up.
Thanks

You can call me francois :p

I didn't notice it was you (kidding)
In the forums, for some reason we call each other by their nickname. So EdB is EdB and not ... What's his first name again?

"That crusty bastard", or at least that's what my Mom calls me ;)
Yeah in the forums I tend to stay with forum name because not everyone chooses to let their real name out. If, pretend, username "erewtadasdrewtr" puts "thanks, Bob" at the end of their post then I'll go with ... erewtadasdrewtr just because it's easier for me that way.

I wish there was such a thing as a nickname. But phpBB only displays usernames... logins actually...
Ok, just me bitching about "not invented here" :p
Hi jkyndt,
Welcome to the forums.
In Dashboard -> Users select a group (Administrators or Bloggers, one you are member of) and change XHTML validation on XML-RPC calls from "Force valid XHTML + strong security" to "Basic security checking".
Good luck
