My b2evolution Version: Not Entered

I uploaded all the files to a folder on the server. I created a database and went to the install script and ran it. I entered all the information, but still come up with an error.

MySQL error!

Error establishing a database connection!

(Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2))

Are you sure you have typed the correct user/password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?

Any ideas?

I know the username, password, database and url are all correct

And I am fairly certain this error notice is correct, meaning that you need to check and recheck everything.

Good luck

Assuming your database is a brand new one - i.e. you don't have any useful data in it, you could do worse than simply delete the database that you can't connect to and create a brand new one using the username and password you know to be correct. Then point your new install at the new database.

This then eliminates the possibility that you mistyped a username or password when creating the database, an easy thing to do.
