I have several categories I used to post to, but are pretty much defunct now. I don't want to delete the category, just hide it/them from view in the post create page. Anyone have a solution they can suggest?
Hum... When I upgraded to 2.4.5, I deleted some categories, reassign some posts to other categories and beggined to use tags. Maybe tags could be the better way to organize your posts.

About the only things I can think of are
1) hack the core
2) get creative with jQuery
