let me over-write an existing file

I'm pretty sure I ranted about this before but since I'm not sure and am too lazy to find it here ya go!

When I update a plugin I have to delete the .zip via the back office before I can upload the new one. I wish it would say, depending on permissions of course, "that file name already exists. shall I delete it and upload your new one?"

You update your plugins via the filemanager? ( not via FTP? )

No, but when I update a plugin I wrote I make a .zip of it and upload the zip via the file manager. Other files one might use file manager for that might need changing could be .pdf for example? Or someone using 'allow custom css per blog/user' who wants to have a new customized background in their header.
