There is a "bookmarklet" plugin that I just now checked out and might be interesting to you. It does not let you set the category, rather, it lets you put a bookmark/favorite in your browser that will popup b2evo's write tab. If you put it on the bar your browser gives you for quickie bookmarks then you click it and don't lose the page you were on.
