My b2evolution Version: v3

It's time I updated a web site on which I have been using B2E for the blog part of the site (as a side note: I can't understand that every PC mag I read that has an article on CMS/blog software never mentions this one! Their loss!).

Anyway back to my point... Certain parts of the site I will be adding will require users to be logged on and as B2E already comprises of most of my target users and has a fully featured user admin system - so why not use it to control access to other parts of my web site which isn't controlled by B2E? Has anyone tried doing this or should I turn around now and not even consider trying?
